True, I assumed fastpitch. My bad. (Every slowpitch league around us that I've played in or umpired bats the lineup, making the DH not necessary - hence the assumption).

I would, with pain in my heart, stay off the field while injuried!
When I was young(er), coming back from a knee surgery, I went too soon back on the diamond. Resulting in another opeartion 14 months later on the same knee! Never played again... So I keep saying: "When injured, stay away!" Nothing will help you more recovering than helping the team from behind the backstop...
