Was doing a show case, [18U & college teams] this weekend.
Things went pretty good, but did have one incident late in the evening. I was PU and had a catcher that was having a whole lot of problems maintaining her balance. About the 3rd inning in a very good game, no runners aboard pitcher is just about to release the ball when the catcher falls down towards the 1st base side. When I saw that I went rushing off towards the 3rd base side. Not sure where the pitch went. After everything settled down, I told both coaches that we were going to have a *do-over* with one slight change. A new catcher. Got one and things went well from then on. The young lady that was catching, seemed very glad to be outta there. glen BTW Joel, Are you and Lauren coming to Beaumont the weekend of Oct 4-5-6 for the Lady Cajun Classic???

Nope............Lauren is getting ready for V BB, Debate/Drama/Etc...........
She has a pretty full plate............. Brigid is in VB and Katie in so**er.......running as always......... Busy time..............have not umpired since early August...............and may not until I get my new glasses............. I ran over my progressives with a tractor mowing a pasture............(don't ask).........and won't get my new glasses until mid/late next week.......... I don't like to call the plate with contact lenses.......and will only do day games until I get my new glasses.............. I ordered lined lenses this time (much cheaper) and am hoping that I won't have any problems with them........sigh Joel |

BTW,
After having read the incident of ejecting player for being inept, by Dakota I will say that I did not eject, I just ask for a new catcher and received one. I think the coach was ready for the change and I know that the player in question was..... glen

You are too kind, Glen! I think you handled it very appropriately! Also, thank you for your kind words on Renee's HS Guest Book. They now have individual pics of the players under 'Rosters'.
She was able to play 3 defensive innings at 1st this past Tuesday with no pain to her arm. The doc told her to try and start working it. The therapist has put her on a 'professional baseball' type throwing program along with her strengthening exercises. Glad you got to do a showcase, but where are your graphics for it? I expected one.

Glad to hear that you and Renee are on the road to recovery.
Had been wondering as others where you had disappeared. Have another showcase this coming weekend. Have been told we will be using 12 fields, so this will be a biggie. Hope Joel lets it stay dry. Keep us posted on yours and Renee's progress. glen

Glen,
I can see now that you're still having fun with all the graphics--wheee! I love the little car. I was in the hospital (again, only the 4th time since 6/04) as this time my small intestine decided to twist a little and none of the digestive juices could go down. It resolved after about a week with no further surgery, thank God. I have recuperated a little over a week, feel pretty good, so I guess I'd better go back to work this Monday. The doc is putting 'frequent breaks' on my return list. That way I can get up from my cubicle when I want and not just be tied to the computer. I'm trying to get my old job back that I loved and had prior to April--wish me luck!! Thank ALL of you readers and friends for caring about me. Email me anytime!!
