Revolutionary Method of Teaching Rules

An April Fool's post on heybucket got me thinking and I believe I've come up with a new way to teach the rules to coaches and parents (and adult players).

Billy Mays is gone (thank you) and all these other putz hucksters won't worth with their Australian accents, so I guess we will have to go with Montel Williams as our spokesperson.

Here's the idea:

ASA buys Dixie Cups and begins marketing the 16 oz. red cups to the softball market.

They print a rule on one side, a case play on the other and the answer on the bottom!!!

The people will read the rule and play and turn the cup upside down to get the answer. Damn, they lose all that beer and get so pissed, crush that cup. Well, now they need to go get a new one, but look, another rule and play.

Hell, ASA will make a fortune selling the cups; The idiots stay sober; And maybe along the way, we teach a few people the rules. Maybe even get a few new umpires. Then they will know the answer and not waste the beer turning over the damn cup!!!

Whatchya think?

Here in the south, they wouldn't turn the cup over to learn the rule; you protect the beer at all costs. Alcohol abuse is much more serious than ignorance of the rule.

Save those Dixie cups, as the South (thinks it) will rise again!!

To cheat: the dutch would first empty the cup and then read the bottom...

C'mon, that just isn't true. You know it would take a couple cups before they realized what they were doing and just drink out of the can.

the answer is not "on" the bottom of the cup, it is AT the bottom of the cup. put down the koolaid, bottoms up, and cheers.

What difference does it make, according to stock-boy Steve, we are just a bunch of losers and whiners. We better clean up our act or he may call us more names

But there isn't anyone who fits that description.

Ignore him. He can't get his facts straight. I'm Norwegian, Polish and German, not Irish.

And I am an American, no longer fat and over-officious? Ha! Still batting zero.

okay, a blond and a redhead.
kinda like click and clack, except far more serious, more like cramer on roids.

it could work. I predict a softball channel in the future for cable.

you guys could peddle stuff for the ASA, like red beer cups w/ rules on the sides, and the answers on the bottom. you guys could make bank. and who'd be laughing then.
