2010 ASA Rule Book

They have added a page, "Appendix: Penalty Page"

It includes approximately 79 situations where a penalty may apply, the rule, section & article.

Found one issue with one-umpire mechanic, but have only spent 10 minutes with the book.

Could you give examples, Mike?

I haven't gotten mine yet. Gotta get in touch with Phil...

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

In the Umpire Mechanics section, did they add all of the diagrams for field positioning that were refered to in the 2009 book, but weren't there?

It'll probably be another month before I get my 2010 book.

The direct shipping to Association staff was sent this week. I get direct shipped Team/Participant books, received; and have confirmed that my State UIC has the Umpire books.

It then depends on your state's distribution process, or when your more local administrator can get with the most local direct shipped staff determined by your Commissioner. And then, of course, when your local has the next meeting or clinic after that.

Only for one-umpire and between-inning mechanics.

Mike:
When you have a chance could you post a "review" with your opinion of it. As Steve indicated many of us are a few months away from getting our 2010 books.
Thanks

Sounds like a good idea. Anything to help us understand/interpret the rules is fine by me.
