What's the umpiring scene in New Mexico?

An umpire friend (ASA, NFS, NCAA), long-time Pacific Northwesterner, may be re-locating and wants to know what to expect. I said I'd check my sources. Anyone have any thoughts?

Do I know said umpire friend?
We see with our eyes. Fans and parents see with their hearts.
