Well, I'm now getting an "URGENT" request from NASO every month informing me that my membership expired. I sure am glad they pointed that out to me, I never would have known
 Meanwhile, apparently enough softball umpires bailed on them as they have decided to increase the number of pages and will, once again, be including softball as a real sport. However, this will not happen until October. And come October and into the future, I will still remain an ex-NASO member.

The bat issue in softball is as much about liability, insurance and litigation as it is about competition, inflated egos and softball.
