Fair ball.

You guys get munchies ? In my neck of the woods people are so busy rushing around we don't get alot of group photos and can't remember any munchies in 5 years.

I like munchies.

That Blue sure was pretty. One of your daughters no doubt. Guarantee I would come out to complain about a call with that one

Good job by the base ump. Great footwork, kept working thru the entire play to maintain a good angle and position to the play.

1. Hands behind the knees by a PU is baseball bawk bawk and not good mechanics IMO-pic 18

2. Agree that that particular umpire is much easier on the eyes than most of you smelly fat guys.-pic 3 etc
Does she ever stop moving for the play though?

3. If I had to say, looks like a fun time and wish I was there! The BS session with munchies a definate bonus.

Great pics! Only comment I might offer is on pic 25 of 26 - bring the chin up. Looking down is not confident. Looking up and standing tall is confident.

Again, I'm picking nits.

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

This was a very special occasion. Our game fees are going to a memorial scholarship for a heckuva umpire and even better man.

Because it was a special occasion we had more than munchies. Lotsa hot dogs. A parent got wind of what we were doing and brought 10 pounds of freshly made bratwurst. There were ribs. I had last game of the night, so I got the charcoal burnt end of something that was allegedly a rib and figured it was probably all I deserved for being an over the hill half-assed umpire...but I heard some of the rest of the ribs were very good, and the good ribs went to the good umpires and to some very hard-working evaluators who also donated their day to help those who wanted to become better umpires become better umpires.

(They were umpire evaluators, not umpire validators.)

We're lucky to have Dale Garvey live here. As some of you know, he's one of the photo guys for Referee Magazine. He's good to share his pics with us from time to time, especially the oddball ones.

I wear the adjustable ASA trucker hat for bases at any tournament other than big ones/qualifiers/nationals stuff like that.

Its kind of become my trade mark as a country boy.

Hasnt caught on though

Wade,

I stumbled across an old picture of you. I can see why it hasn't caught on...

I was going to ask you why Referee always has Seattle photos --even in last issue's article about protecting yourself from the heat!

BTW, I guess there isn't a "Referee cover jinx" since UW won the WCWS. But Arizona was on defense (in the cover photo) and they ended up getting smoked in two games.
