Odd mechanic.
I am watching the Rangers playing the Mariners right now, and I saw the strangest mechanic I have seen in a while, even in MLB. PU is a pointer on his strike calls. Batter attempted to check swing with two strikes, but failed to do so in the PU's judgment. PU points at batter with left hand, then raises right hand with index finger pointing to the sky, and twirls the finger in a circular motion. Just thought I'd share!

Yeah, a really old school baseball mechanic to say, "He went". Probably hasn't been commonly taught since the 1970's.
I have had exactly one partner ever use this. It was in a high school baseball game and my partner was in his 70's! Last edited by BretMan; Thu May 14, 2009 at 04:28pm. |

Maybe you would really like to screw me up by starting to hum or whistle, "It's a Small World"! |
