Odd mechanic.

I am watching the Rangers playing the Mariners right now, and I saw the strangest mechanic I have seen in a while, even in MLB. PU is a pointer on his strike calls. Batter attempted to check swing with two strikes, but failed to do so in the PU's judgment. PU points at batter with left hand, then raises right hand with index finger pointing to the sky, and twirls the finger in a circular motion. Just thought I'd share!

The baseball guys around here do that twirly thing when the batter went. thats why we shouldnt use MLB for mechanic tips. sigh baseball sigh. (wish I was getting paid up to 7 figures to make up mechanics)

That's an old school check swing mechanic. I last saw it about 7 or 8 years ago at a college baseball game.

Why would you want to watch the Mariners?

Yeah, a really old school baseball mechanic to say, "He went". Probably hasn't been commonly taught since the 1970's.

I have had exactly one partner ever use this. It was in a high school baseball game and my partner was in his 70's!

Wait a minute, I remember that mechanic! I used it in the 60's working baseball. Forgot all about it until now. Thanks a lot.

Maybe you would really like to screw me up by starting to hum or whistle, "It's a Small World"!
