Congrats to you.

You will get a letter telling you the uniform.

They wear gray during Fireworks in CO.

As Wade said; wait for the letter from the UIC (or umpire coordinator). You have until late July to get the right pants.

Actually, I would buy the pants as soon as you know for certain what color they are. Last year, the national office ran out of the official Fechheimer pants before the Nationals, and some umpires were high and dry (fortunately, UICs were informed, and were told to be accommodating - mine certainly was).

So once you get your packet, don't delay. Get those pants ASAP.

And congrats on your assignment!

Or you can just purchase whatever pants you don't presently have hanging in your closet.

If you are going to be working nationals, you may want to be prepared for the future and have all the uniforms available to you. It isn't like clothing will not be used in the future even if you don't ever need them for a game.

Didn't someone say they purchased a bunch of Elbeco shirts, only to find out shortly afterward that ASA was switching to the pullover?

Look, $45-47 per pair of pants is a bit on the expensive side. If you're going to a National, I'd recommend at least one pair of pants per day, PLUS an extra pair or two in reserve (in case something happens like a rip, and the hotel isn't close). That means 4-5 pairs of pants.

Find out what exactly is required, and make the purchase right away.

They tend to wear grey there, both for slow-pitch and fast-pitch. Yes, I worked a deaf regional slow-pitch tournament in Westminster once, and the local umpires had grey shorts on. Just about floored me. If the complex I'm thinking of is the one being used, it's really nice, with an awesome view of the Rockies.

Yes, those butt-ugly grey coaches shorts with belt loops, similar design to the blue shorts we have from ASA for slow-pitch.

I've seen gray shorts where someone had their fech's tailored. On a few different umpires.

So, these were younger guys who wear their hat backwards on the bases and "tailored" plate pants shorts with a 4 inch too big waist to get the proper baggy low crotch look. Right?

But, the really, really important question: Were they genuine ASA britches with western cut pockets?
