And so ends my season...

I have meetings, but the season is over

Until late feb, its just rooms full of ugly umpires, stale donuts, and luke warm coffee.... no fields, no drama, no excitement.

A great season though, some of my best and some of my worst. I'll take it, because I learned a lot this year!

Next year is already shaping up to be different and exciting for me. I will join another org besides ASA for the first time. Mens ball here went NAFA, and I will join in order to work more mens fastpitch in preparation for my invite to work a big ISC Fastball tourney Nevada, which I consider an honor, and Hope I have what it takes to get to the world games.

I have some other things going on as well.

I receive my first glimmer of hope for OKC 18G ... so maybe that will work out!

Can't wait to see what ASA is doing in terms of rules.

I am missing the field already!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm still scheduled for 5-6 games (one "if" game a week from now), but it's an odd feeling to go home from work and then... do... nothing?

If my schedule holds true and the one "if" game is play, I will have called 258 SP games this year alone.

I've called my first ASA National, a very proud moment of my career. Sure, it was the men's seniors, but each game is just as important as the rest, and I was still asked. It was really an honor, and it was definitely fun.

I've called the best games of my 16-year career. I've never felt better about the job that I do for the teams on the field.

This year has been an absolutely wonderful year.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Worked my last games of this season last weekend and won't be on the field again until I head down to Florida on January 2 for a tournament. For now it's banquet's and basketball.

My last check just came today.
I'll have a little bit of indoor ball starting next weekend, but they don't really count.

Wade - From what I gather, NAFA is very close to ISC as far as rules & enforcement & approach to the game. ISC ball has been a whole lot of fun with some really good teams.

Hey, if I cut it in the ISC, maybe we'll run into each other. I was just happy to get the invite from the top west coast guy to go to carson city. Cant wait!

Well, Steve, there is an incentive if I've ever seen one.

For Steve M only

BTW, at the CAR meeting, your commissioner happened to refer to his "selected" successor (your buddy). Whether getting him out of your area is moreimportant than him becoming his replacement should be interesting

How thrilling - just that thought that he'll do to the state what he's done to the district.
