How do these socks hold up?

When I was still skiing, I had picked-up a few pair of Thorlos at Steamboat. Unfortunately, they wore worse than the ASA 3-ring knee-highs. Don't know whether it was the brand or the construction, but I'm not inclined to invest in them again barring new data.

I used them a lot, even wore them when I was working basketball because I liked the support.

As for wear, I still have almost all of them I ever purchased that I use for boot socks when I go walking in the woods.
None of them ever wore out at the points where the guards rubbed or where the plate shoes hit. I also don't remember any of them ever developing the little pills that some types do.

As an aside, they were really good at NOT holding a smell like some types do.

Your may get different results, but I think you will be pleased if you try them

I always felt the compression tights made my @$$ look too big.;)

Actually, back in the olden days when I was in exotic climes like TX, before UnderArmor was a gleam in someone's eye, many of us wore long underwear because we wanted to be sure and work up a little sweat to keep us cool. Not a LOT of sweat, just some.

I wear compression shorts. Used to wear McDavids, but got two pair UltraJoc this year and really love em. I usually wear special socks to be sure I don't get blood clots and keep good circulation going (after effects of the heart stuff).

Not too far removed from the old compression tights, but my @$$ looks much better.:D

Is this a personal opinion or an unsolicited testimonial?

Okay, truth be told, when I said "female catcher" in this thread, I meant John.

Sorry, guys... I'll work on that!

Just kidding. I think I threw up a little in my mouth... No offense to you, of course, John. :)

Ironic that about the time you posted this I took a cup shot, a bouncer...on a 100% artificial turf field...right up underneath.

It was...breathtaking.

But thanks to those compression shorts the virtually worthless cup was right in its place...

Well, y'all know that I don't do fast pitch, but any redblooded man will tell you that any shot to the unprotected boys will HURT. And while I've not taken any throws to the Johnson, I've taken quite a few dings behind the plate that went straight to the nards. The Shock Doctor cup has protected the twig and giggleberries every time.

You guys are getting heat indexes of 120 degrees and up?

I wear full length compression tights, even in hot weather and they work well for me. They wick sweat away from the legs and prevent irritation from the shinguards, I do not feel too hot wearing them at all. Of course we'll see if that is the case when I start working ball in the Houston heat and humidity. ;)

I've worn those socks all this season, so far so good. They are thick, so if your shoes fit just right, they will feel tight with those socks.

Since a couple a weeks I wear them too! However to prevent them getting worn out by my legguards, I wear long socks over the tights. I find out that's hot; the sweat can't go away! So, are the compression tights strong enough to handle the legguards direct over them?
I've got the McDavids, sold by Honigs'...

McDavid Compression Tights?

The McDavid's seem to be sold out everywhere. Can anyone point me to a good alternative?

I wear knee high compression socks. They are $20 but one cool thing they do is whisk the sweat from your feet. I can be sweated up everywhere but my feet are still dry. I also like how the shin guards fit over them.

You should try the socks that Honig's has.
They are Thorlo, plate socks.
A little expensive but once you use them you will wonder why you ever wore anything else, especially if you are working an all day tournament.

To each his own. Tried em and didnt like em.
