USSSA rule question

I registered as a USSSA official about a month ago. I haven't received a rule book yet and can't find their rules at their website.

Does anyone know if they use the single obstruction rule (all obs is treated the same way, DDB) or if they use the baseball variant where obs is a DDB except for when a play is being made on the runner in which case it's an immediate dead ball with an automatic base award?

As far as I know, NSA is the only softball body that uses the baseball type rule.

Funny thing is that one of our NSA state UIC's doesn't understand this distinction; he swears all obs is DDB. I argued about this once with him and got assigned 10U next time out.

Can't speak for U-Trip anymore, but their rules are here:

Slow Pitch

Fast Pitch

I think you used to be able to order a book online.

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Thanks NCASA,

I've bookmarked it.

USSSA uses the always DDB approach. NSA is the odd-ball in this respect.

Yes, same as most softball.

Bear in mind that Regions, spscifically Region 1 in your case, sometimes have different rules, or adopt a rule early that is approved for the next year.

Are you talking NSA or USSSA? I have never heard of anything like that for USSSA.
