Interesting game last night. Visiting team is probably the best in the league, should also win district title. Number one pitcher is throwing and she hasn't walked anybody, yet. Home team just used up their only decent pitcher in extra innings the night before, so they're throwing their JV pitcher. First home batter, 2nd pitch, catcher obstruction so off to 1B. Two pitches later, she's out for geting an early jump on a steal. Home team gets maybe 3 fouls through the next 5 innings, so nobody even gets to see what 1B looks like. Meanwhile visitors are up a bunch - not quite 10 though, so we go the full 7. Home team finally gets a hit with 2 out in the 6th - and it was a legit hit, but runner was stranded as the next batter heard 3 strikes go past (I don't think she saw them). Visitors score a pile more in the 7th and the home team goes down on 9 pitches. Game over. That was only the 2nd HS softball game I've gotten in so far - lots of college ball though & have #2 team in latest poll this weekend.

Thumbs up

Steve,

That sounds a little similar to the last one I had. I, like
you should have a great one tonight. Both teams 6-1 in the
district 5A schools. Really looking forward to this one. I
have not had a lot of quality games as of yet, but this one
does have promise.

Good luck,

glen

Tonight's game, by comparison, was just plain ugly. Two of the more unskilled teams that I've run into. I had the bases tonight, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Neither pitcher was really sure of where the plate was and the speed of each could be measured by an hourglass. And nobody knew how to swing a bat with any authority. Funny part was, they were so evenly matched, the went into extra innings - note that I am still displeased that Pennsylvania did not adopt the tie-breaker.

Oh well, double header tomorrow - if it doesn't get rained out. And then Sunday, I get what should be a couple of really good college games.
