"Gotta Be"

I can not begin to describe how much I hate hearing that. Seems like every time I work the bases in SP my PU partner uses it.

Just about anything with "gotta" gets on my nerves.

"Gotta be fair, blue."

"Gotta call it both ways, blue." (The player I mentioned tossing last week in another post kept saying it over and over).

"Gotta be kidding me, blue!"

My response:

"I don't 'gotta' do anything."

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

That is standing operating procedure in my neck of the woods.

Which isn't too far from your fire and smoke neck of the woods.

I stick to the book and fight the good fight when it comes to the ole double fist pump.

How smoky is it in your neighborhood ? I'm about an hour from the fires and the air is downright L.A. like.

I work in San Ramon and the air is pretty smokey, though I think we are being bracketed by the fires down in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz as well. I would imagine Vacaville is not too pleasant.

I haven't heard "gotta" from any of my partners yet but as NCSASUmp said, it is a player favorite.

I'm east side of Sacramento so the "Westerly's" blow our way.

I'm more surprised when a partner is not saying "gotta be"...

As the crow flies (or, as the smoke blows) I'm about 15 miles away from the Napa/Solano fire. Sunday was the worst. Ashes falling from the sky, car headlights needed for a short time in the middle of the afternoon.

Yesterday and today are just nasty...but Sunday was much worse.

"Gotta be" worse.

Same here. today is by far the worst day so far. I went to the Air Control website and my town is clearly one of the worst hit, as far as air quality today. I live not in the mountains but the beginning of the foothills.
