Well, Lady Blue had a strange thing happen to her about 6 years ago on a Men's Slowpitch game. No one on base, BR hits to SS, I trot in for my angle on the bag and right when the ball comes---SMACK! A huge bug flew in my eye! I nearly died! I couldn't do anything but cover my eye and point to my partner, who thank god was trailing, for the call. Luckily, one of the guys had some saline so I could wash my eye and clean my contact. We all had a big laugh.
But, on a call that I know I've nailed, I tell the coach, "it's my call and it stands. Let's play ball."
