Injured Player-Fed Rules
Player gets nailed by a nice hot fastball in the forearm. It sounded painful. After a couple of minutes of player rolling around and crying it's becoming obvious she is on the way to the hospital for x-rays. Opposing coach insists she needs to touch 1b before she can be replaced or she is out when entering dead ball territory. When he started that line of thinking I went to partner and he agreed with coach. I told him I would take responsibility for the call and ruled player was injured and did not have to touch 1B.
My thinking is hey she was obviously hurt, possible broken bone, lets not get stupid. please tell me I was right ? Or at least make a decent argument why I was wrong . LOL |

A sub can be made at any time when time is called; obviously, during the writhing on the ground.. time had been called. The coach is full of it (and incidentally so is your partner).. thats like the convo I had with a coach this weekend:
"Blue, I know there is no batters box, but if there was one, she would be kicking dirt on it removing the line" "Maybe, but there is no line" "Yeah but if there was one, she would be removing it, and thats not allowed" "Coach, there isnt a line." So after a few more seconds of this nonsense I go back to my spot and the batter draws a line "Blue you think this is where the line would be" then looks straight at the coach (was actually a really good spot, I'll give her credit).. "OK, I'll go with that" Coaches...
