Don't Believe Everything You Read on the Internet!
Just something I ran across while surfing the net and figured you guys might get a kick out of it.
Remember- the guys posting these answers are EXPERTS! So they must be right. Right? There's not much point in submitting an additional answer. I have, and if it disagrees with "the experts" (who, apparently, control all posts and content) they rarely post it. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Softball-...ield-fly-1.htm |

yeah, funny but a bit maddening also!
Just back from a High School pre-season scrimmage, and got to call 1 IF. Believe it or not, there was confusion among the coaching staff, and teams as to what to do. Ball wasn't caught, F1 ran to 3B, F2 started to 2B, head coach telling R2, and batter to stay at 1B, ***'t telling R1 (who is safe at 3B) "go back, go back and tag up! They asked us to explain the rule to them after the game. |

Are we going to let that misinformation from "Coach Suthe" stand for millions (OK, hundreds) to see, or is somebody going to volunteer to post a correction?
Well . . . ? Yow. Read some of that guy's other posts. He hasn't got one right yet!

I tried to post the correct answer, but it still has not appeared on the site. I guess they don't like it when someone corrects their "expert". Actually, they review all posts, and if they "like" the answer, they will post it at 1am eastern time Last edited by qcumpire; Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 04:13pm. |

I thought about applying to be an expert in the softball field, but decided I didn't really want to be associated with that group.

Hopefully, he will contact the AllExperts site monitor and insist upon a correction OR distance himself from those who are passing themselves off as "experts". |

I've actually gone back through several pages of posts on that site- for both the softball and baseball boards- and submitted additional answers. Most never show up, though a couple of them have.
Now, I'm making the assumption that my answers were actually correct... |

The Scott Sutherland that posts on that site as an "expert" doesn't get any rule interpretations correct.

First a disclaimer...I don't know for sure this is the "expert" in question.
I am pretty sure, based on the fact the Coach Sutherland says he is a member of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association in his profile on that site as well as the team picture on his profile, he is the head softball coach of a high school in the northeast part of Oklahoma, near Tulsa. Please don't hold that against me!!!! I won't post his name or his school. You can look it up yourself Last edited by Dholloway1962; Sun Feb 17, 2008 at 10:19pm. |
