Boredom at the ol' ball park

So as I'm calling one of the slowest games I've had all year (only 3 calls as BU), I realize I have to do something, ANYTHING, to keep my mind sharp. Between batters, I do the math in my head. There's no actual statistics I'm using as a reference, so I guesstimate in my head...

An average SP game...

3 pitches per batter
5 batters per half inning
2 halves make an inning
6 innings per game
220 games per average year, give or take.

Each year, I see 39,600 pitches. By the end of this year, I will have seen almost 600,000 pitches, not including warm-up pitches, games I've watched or games I've or played in.

Maybe I need to move to FP or Modified...

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

In FP, the number of batters per half inning may decrease slightly, but the number of pitches per batter will increase by at least 50% and you will have games that go longer than 6 or 7 innings.

True, but the game is a little more exciting, even if you're on the bases. Keeps you from doing silly math in your head.

Mike's just saying that because his calculator had a big "E" on it.
