From the evidence offered, no. At least, not yet.

Doesn't look like obs to me. In fact, it looks as though this may be a force play at the plate!

I'd have a no call from what I'm seeing--
catcher is not obstructing the runner's ability to go to the
plate. Judgling from what I think is the speed of the ball
compared to the speed of a sliding runner-- and if this is
indeed a force play (see runner going to 3rd ? )-- looks like
if caught--an out ??
So tell us !!

Another thing is that it looks like she's not being impeded. She appears to be given the path that she chose (straight into home, coming in full throttle).

No obstruction.

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Looks like proper positioning of F2 to me, NO OBS!!!! By the way these kind of pic's are very helpful in discussing obstruction or interference, wish we had more of them!!!

How in the world can anyone tell that it looks like a force by looking at the runner going into third. No way to tell by the picture we are looking at. Dave

I think everyone is basing it on where and how F2 is setting up to receive the throw. To me, it looks like a force play as well.

Also have a runner going into third. Catcher is set for a throw to 1B after play at plate.

Plate is WIDE open. No OBS.

SRW,

There must be a reason here. Was it called OBS? Did you witness this one? You gotta have more on this story!

Well, I think the most obvious problem is the batter's boxes have been wiped out. This was most likely intentional and needs to be addressed. Furthermore, I think the runner is trying to commit interference by throwing her hands in the air to prevent a throw to third. Of course all of this really won't matter because the runner is actually tagging up and trying to score on a fly ball to F9 for the 2nd out and both runners left early (if this were really a force situation the runner shouldn't be slidding but rather running full speed through home plate, althougth she may have slowed up and slid to avoid the pitcher who is backing up the ball just behind home). Once play is over the defense is actually going to appeal for a 3rd and eventual advantageous 4th out. Once this is over the offensive coach is going to appeal that an illegal glove was used to make the original catch by F9, to which the defensive coach will appeal an illegal bat used to hit the ball in the first place. Not to be outdone, the BU will realize that the pitch was actually illegal and made by an illegal substitute. Fortunately the official scorekeeper has decided to rectify the situtation by pointing out that the batter was BOO. At this point the parents of #11 in the picture let you know that she isn't really a she, if you get my point. Meanwhile a fan behind the screen begins dropping f-bombs on everyone involved. In a moment of sanity, the PU tosses everybody and wakes up thinking I've got to stop dreaming about all the OBS plays that keep coming up on The Official Forum.
