If your daughter’s school is playing under NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) rules a courtesy runner is allowed for the catcher and pitcher only. She would have to run for one or the other (not both) and is tied to running for the position not the player. A pinch runner is a substitution, which would require the starter to re-enter (which she can do only once) if she was to continue to play, would tie your daughter to that batting position and she would then no longer be eligible to be a courtesy runner.
Hope this helps,
Paul
