Partner has wrong count
I am BU, one out, runner at 2nd, 3-1 count on batter. Swing and a miss, runner tries to steal third, she is out. After the dust clears the PU calls the batter out on strikes. O coach asks for the count and PU spends several seconds looking at his indicator and conferring with both scorekeepers and finally tells him 3-3, batter out. Partner never asked me (or even looked in my direction) should I have interjected and corrected the count? After the inning was over the coach approached me and asked if he could ask me the count or should he go though the PU, I told him to please go though the PU. The coach kind of smiled and rolled his eyes and continued off the field. After the game was over he once again asked me ( as I was walking to the head) about the play. I smiled at the coach and told him does it really matter now? He said no and we talked about other things for a few seconds (like how foolish a four field tournament only had four porta potties) while waiting in line for the can.

If your PU conferred with both books, and then came up with a decision, perhaps you yourself had the wrong count to begin with?

Personally, if I know he's searching for the count, I will walk to him and talk to him and tell him what I have . . . he can make his decision from there. If I am the PU and I lose the count, I would go to my partner before I looked at any book.
