Referee magazine Aug 2006 Pg 36-37

I find this photo to be odd.

What do you see that is strange?

This is also a topic on another board. The thread starter was complaining about the umpires wearing sunglasses at the pre-game w/coaches, wearing navy blue shirts and the PU not wearing a chest protector.

The photo was taken during a high school game in Ohio, we wear navy shirts with red undershirts for OHSAA games. The chest protector is a matter of personal preference. I don't. I know the risks so save the sermons. The sunglasses should be remove when talking to coaches.

That other thread also pointed out an issue with where the umpires were standing... I don't subscribe to Referree & haven't seen the pic.

Uniform colors are, of course, a local issue & the only protective equipment mandated by the rules is the face mask with throat protector.

Same here. I would like to see it however. As stated on the other board, one of the gentlemen in the picture is a member of my local high school association, as well as the person who posted that info.
