Unhappy In Memory - Jim Lockhart

I worked 3 Fed games with Jim this year. He taught me more about mechanics and field work than I learned in two years of clinics.

Lockhart, James Edward

TRINITY, NC - Mr. James Edward "Jimbo" Lockhart, 60, of 5678 Morgan Street, died July 29, 2006.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church, 314 Barker Avenue in High Point by the Rev. Boyd M. Holliday. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Lockhart was born May 31, 1946 in Guilford County to A.B. and Evelyn Kimball Lockhart. He was retired from the United States Postal Service in Greensboro.

Mr. Lockhart was a lifelong member of Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Lockhart was a past-president of the Hillsville Civitan Club and was a member of the Cantrell Rod and Gun Club in Carlyle, S.C.

Mr. Lockhart was a N.S.A. certified softball umpire, a U.S.S.S.A. certified umpire and was also affiliated with other leagues.

Mr. Lockhart was first married to the former Teena Ann Tuggle who preceded him in death in 1998. He later married the former Donna Maney who survives of the residence. Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy Lockhart Bell and husband, William of Archdale and Amanda King and husband, Ryan of Trinity; three step-daughters, Becky Craddock and husband, Jackie of Archdale, Kelly Strader and husband, Jason and Toni Pierce, all of Trinity; four brothers, Albert Lockhart of St. Lucie, Fla., Gary Lockhart and wife, Barbara of Trinity, Joel Lockhart and wife, Debbie of Lexington and Roger Lockhart and wife, Penny of Archdale; four grandchildren, Derek and Christina Roach, Cora Bell and Bailey King; and four step-grandchildren, Skylar Craddock, Jake and Cody Strader and Andrew Hill.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.

Memorials may be directed to Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church, 314 Barker Avenue, High Point, NC 27262.
