			Roger...... I think I would have an illegal pitch here...... Look at 6-1-Art. 2-b.....Once the hands are brought together and are in motion, the pitcher shall not take more than one step which must be forward....... I know you are asking if this slide is a step.......technically a drag is not a step......but it accomplishes the same thing as a step...... By imagining both moves.......I see no difference in the delivery between sliding the NP foot and stepping backwards with it. JMHO Joel BTW.......I don't have my casebook here......but I want to say that there is a very similar play in the casebook that calls this illegal.....I will look it up when I get to my office tomorrow. |
