Started working games this year in the middle of April. At the time here in MN the temps were in the upper 40's to mid 50's. Worked 4 nights a week all summer. Cut back to 3 nights for fall league. My last league went 3 weeks longer than any of the ohters. I have finally completed my season doing 3 games last night with the temperature at a balmy 50.

Its been a good season, but I am glad its done for now. I need a break.

Just needed to celebrate the end of a good year.

My season ended ten days ago...sort of.

The fall league I worked added an extra weekend due to rained out games. We finished up on the 16th.

I'm going to be calling games at an indoor sports complex starting next weekend. Games run to the first week of December, then I get month off, then the next indoor session begins. That runs through February. Another month off and then the outdoor season begins.

Last year, The only months that I didn't do games were December, March and for most of August.

Haven't burnt out yet, but if I do it will be easy to cut back.

Here in Phoenix, we consider our "season" over in August with the conclusion of ASA nationals.

Fall tournaments and leagues begin in the middle of September and run up until a couple weeks before Christmas.

Some weekend tournaments will run in January and February, there are also clinics and meetings for the HS season which starts at the end of February. HS runs through the first part of May, then comes the heavy travel ball season thru July, then Nationals.

This timetable is only for youth fastpitch....I don't think the adult slowpitch leagues ever stop playing!

That's pretty much the way things are here in North Texas.

Talking

Done in Seattle now too. Last tournament is this weekend.

I got in 176 assignments this year - 100 FP and 76 SP. I'm ready for the break.

How many assignments did others work? Just curious...

SRW, I worked 61 games -- but I do FP only, and I still have a DD playing college ball, so I probably watched 100 more college games as a fan. (One more year on the outside of the chainlink, then I'll have more time to get on the field.)
