Got hooked into doing a couple of 14U league ASA games tonight and gald I did.
I found out there is a new version of the LBR. Batter walks, while she is heading towards 1B catcher returns the ball to the pitcher in the circle. She is standing slightly towards 3B behind the pitching plate with ball. Making no moves. Runner rounds 1B, stops, takes half step back towards 1B, then starts towards 2B. I kill the play, call the runner out. Offensive coach request time and comes out to chat. "Blue, the pitcher was not on the rubber!" LBR does not go into effect until the pitcher is on the rubber."

Said she had the LBR page folded back and highlighted. After the game, I allowed she could get her book and bring it over. She did, and started reading it to me. When she got to the point of where it says, "When the pitcher has the ball in the circle, the runner must immediately attmpt to advance to the next base or immediately return to the base left." She said, "I know I saw the words pitcher has to be on the pitcher's plate when I marked this." I told her, "Maybe you brought the wrong book out."
