Rachel,

You doing the women's 23's (AFA) this year? Someone from here
mentioned that they were going. I think it was Pokie, but not
sure. I will be doing the USFA World Series hopefully. At least
I have been asked, but not sure if plans will work out.

It is great, so lightweight that I barely need a harness.
If I had good enough balance, I could just let it rest on the brim of my hat!

Honestly, it is great in all ways.
The only drawback is that it sits a little farther out from my face but doen't block any of my view.

I have had a few fellow umpires threaten to steal it, so I have to watch it closely

I started as an official in basketball in 1987. Absolutely loved it and couldn't see myself doing anything else. A buddy convinced me to take up volleyball a few years later. I still do that. A few years back, I injured a calf muscle and my legs can't take the pounding on the basketball court anymore. I grew up in a Fastpitch softball hotbed in the 70's, so I took up FP softball about 6 years ago. Best move I ever made as an official. I still do volleyball, but only HS in the fall. I am fortunate to live in an area where I can call softball year-round. The two sports that I do (volleyball and softball) are different enough that I can study and apply the rules of each effectively.
