I definitely would not penalize the offense for something that the defense did. Go ahead and make the 4-base award. That's the regular award for throwing & hitting the ball with a glove that you judge would have gone over the fence. This would not count as a homerun or anything except an award. I don't do slow pitch, so I never see games with homerun limits, but I seem to recall that such an award is not to be counted against a team's homerun limit.
