Thrown bat

Team warning already issued. Next inning batter (from same team), throws bat after hitting a base hit. Batter is now restricted to dugout, but coach does not have a legal sub for her. Now what?

What sanction?

Since a warning was mentioned, I'll guess NFHS.

If that is the whole story, play shorthanded. They can do that after a restriction, because it is not an ejection.

NFHS you can use the last batter not on base to replace a runner that cannot continue. 3.3.8 sit A would be the applicable case play

As the rule does not specify injury, which is the intent, it seems "unable to continue" applies to this and other non-injury situations.
