A highschool coach was telling me the other day there is a rule about thrown bats. Is this new or just another coach making up rules. I remember this topic from last year, but no rules against it. Unless it was dangerous of course! Brian

Speaking NFHS.

The player is prohibited from "carelessly" throwing a bat. (3-6-2) Penalty is a team warning. The next offender will be restricted to the bench.

The player is prohibited from "deliberately" throwing a bat. (3-6-18) Penalty is ejection unless the offense is judged to be of a minor nature, in which case there will be a warning with an ejection if that player repeats.
