But even if judged to not make it back to 3rd without the OBS, we still need to award her that base since she can't be called out between the two bases where the OBS occurred. Right?

The runner cannot be called out between the two bases where obstructed. The runner obviously wasn't going to reach home safely, so you have to place the runner somewhere and it cannot be home. I believe there is no doubt that is 3rd. And if there are other runners, they also need to be placed.
