NCAA Pitching Substitutions
Happened to come across the American Conference Championship - Tulsa/USF - on ESPN, started watching it, and the following occurred:
USF is in trouble, behind 3-0 in the 5th. Tulsa get 2 more on base, the USF coach changes pitchers. The relief pitcher promptly walks the bases loaded, so the coach comes back out and re-enters the first pitcher, who properly, I am assuming, gets ready to pitch right away - and the airhead doing color goes, "Wow, shes going right for it with no warm ups!" While I start screaming at the set, 'SHE DOESN'T GET WARM UPS BECAUSE SHE PITCHED IN THE INNING ALREADY!!" I am assuming I wasn't screaming at the set in ignorance! ![]()

Quote:
8.5.2.3 A pitcher is not entitled to warm-up pitches if she returns to pitch in the same half inning.
