Don't know what qualified clinician would tell you the rules are the same as they haven't been for nearly two decades

I will say that I was at the ASA UIC Clinic a few years ago and there was a presentation on why ASA mechanics are what they are. There was a comparison of button hooking to working outside. The only disadvantage to working outside that I agreed with was that it can lead to lazy umpiring.

I already do this is guess (just read the article). Never really attributed it to any rule set mechanic, just what works best for me to get the best view on my first play with where I might need to go after as a secondary response.
