As Predicted......Delaware ASA Is Gone

Not surprised, but as of Friday, Jan 1st, Delaware ASA is being absorbed by Maryland/DC ASA.

Of course, it is supposedly for the betterment of softball. There is reportedly a condition that "if a person came along who would make a good Commissioner that Delaware be able to return to their own Organization, by petition to the Board of Directors". This is exactly what was stated two years ago, so the odds of the Executive Director or BOD reversing such a move once effective are next to nil.

I wonder if this happened elsewhere or if this is just something in Region 3.

No surprise, as others have disappeared. My Atlanta Metro, West Virginia, 4-5 in Florida merged to Florida.

Immune in CA and TX; everyone else, look out!!

Not so....Metro Oakland is being dissolved and merged into Northern California ASA as of January 1.

ASA softball has been really down in Alabama. In years past, there were tournaments every weekend and normally a National "A" class FP tourney annually. Last year, there were less than 10 tournaments posted on their website and no "A" National, though we did have a "Southern" National.

There is a new director this year and hopefully she can change this trend.

G. Pat always took great care of Alabama and everyone who visited

In Missouri, Utrip is really taking over and more widespread but better teams are traveling longer distances now to play ASA or PGF.
