Running along side or foul
I got a lot of blowback on a call from this afternoon. Let's see what you all think.
Defender and attacker are chasing down a ball towards the goal line. The attacker is about half a step behind the defender. They're within 5 yards of the ball as they are crossing the top of the PA. The attacker makes contact in the defenders back with his hand, turning the defender's shoulder and taking him off balance. This was enough for the attacker to get around the defender. Foul or not? |
