I'm not sure that a whistle for sub is legal...

I'm not sure that a whistle for sub is legal after the whistle for serve. Or any whistle, other than emergency/safety or conduct sanction, for that matter.

I agree. I read it wrong. It’s the floor or wall cables. Incidentally, I’ve only seen floor cables in one school here, and that was about 15 years ago. These did look like bad news waiting to happen....

After a player runs into the stand, the "danger" part is already done. What are you going to whistle? At this point, if you are to stop the play it would be for an injury, not danger.

Thanks for the update. To be honest, the whistle, and it just so happens that all, but one, of my partners were using Sonic Blasts when we got wired up, doesn’t come across too bad on the headsets...

True. Then again - 3:0 is a very common score. Perhaps the most common. A look at that team's (the one with the ceiling net system) 2024 season shows:

16 matches ended in 3 sets - 67%
6 matches...

I wish NCAA would put it that simple. It seems to me that often when they try to “clarify”, the result is the opposite. Like this year’s “assignment” thing for net calls.
