You can't try to ignore the fans. You have to ignore them. Otherwise, you won't have a very long career as an umpire. Most coaches know enough about the rule book to get themselves in...

You could start out at the JV level, but that depends on the association that you affiliate yourself with. Now which association should you go with depends on what you want start out...
