Sign of the Apocalypse
For those of you who are subscribers to Sports Illustrated, you may be aware of the weekly feature known as "This Week's Sign of the Apocalypse", where writers mention some sort of bizarre or outlandish story in the world of sports. One recent TWSOTA entry involved a 7 year-old Little Leaguer who was benched for his game because his mother failed to show up to perform her volunteer concession stand duties.
