Oddly enough, Gene was working a TV game at the same time as the SB. He worked a college basketball game, according to twitter. I believe it was Michigan and Michigan State.

It was. I watched that game before turning over to the Super Bowl. The game was in the early afternoon, though -- no way they'd program anything against the Super Bowl.

No reason for Gene to sit home when he could be working.

Interesting to note that Bill Vinovich has worked in both professional football leagues. The CFL and the NFL.
