Super Bowl White Hat

It is that time of year again and it will be announced soon who will get the call to wear the white hat. I am guessing Ed Hochuli will get it this year as he has had a great season.:p:D;):(

Hoculi worked the Wild Card round. The Super Bowl referee normally works the divisional round, the second round. This year it was between Vinovich and Steratore. The other two referees in the divisional games had both recently worked a SuperBowl, which would eliminate them for consideration.

Oddly enough, Gene was working a TV game at the same time as the SB. He worked a college basketball game, according to twitter. I believe it was Michigan and Michigan State.

It was. I watched that game before turning over to the Super Bowl. The game was in the early afternoon, though -- no way they'd program anything against the Super Bowl.

No reason for Gene to sit home when he could be working. :D

Good points. I probably read the tweet incorrectly.

Interesting to note that Bill Vinovich has worked in both professional football leagues. The CFL and the NFL. :)
