It depends. Some things have to take place first, but you would have to be more specific to see what is the right answer. Or as suggested, read in the rulebook would be a start and come with a very specific question.

Peace

Lineman can, with certain restrictions, take a handoff (see the rule book).
As far as a screen pass to a lineman: In order for a player to be an eligible receiver he must be eligible by both number and position. So, even if #56 was lined up in the backfield he could not legally touch or catch a forward pass (screen or otherwise) due to his number.

a twist: Say #56 lines up as a slot back he could legally catch a backward pass and then either run (obviously) or throw a forward pass.

Lightbulb

I am out of the loop and do not have my books. From what I remember is the lineman has to be a yard off the line and not blocking and facing his goal. Am I missing anything else as this is one you do not see very often, On the pass they have to be legal by number and position???

Whether they block or not is not relevant to if they can take a hand off or catch a backward pass. It is relevent how far off the line they go to get a handoff. And if they are a lineman strictly by position, I believe they do have to come a yard off the line to do so. None of them can catch a foward pass. Anyone can receive a backward pass regardless of position or number.

Peace

Same with backward handoff.

Under NCAA rules, a backward pass or handoff is unrestricted as far as number and position goes. Lineman handoff restrictions apply to forward handoffs.
