Play cards

I can't find it but I'm sure I've read where players using play charts must wear them on their wrists - not on belts. Anyone know?

If they are designed for the wrist they can't be worn on the belt. The casebook specifically addresses this issue under Rule 1-5-3.

To me this is a silly rule but I have to enforce it almost every week. I'd never flag a player for it but I have them move it to their wrist. They look at me like I'm crazy and I think I am.

Our state supervisor apparently took in a game last Friday night. He sent out an e-mail reminding us of it so I guess the crew missed that.

We're coming up on Week 4 here and it hasn't been a problem so far. Last season it took a while to break the habit.

So how long until a manufacturor comes up with play cards that are made to be put on the belt?

That is what the spat manufacturers did. They were banned and they were able to convince the Fed that they had a purpose.

May I suggest that "per$$$uade" is a better word here? Same thing happened with "illegal" bats in NFHS baseball.

Here in KS a team was listing plays on the back center's helmet. According to an area supervisor, the state contacted the Fed. and they gave their approval.

CANADIAN RULING:

Legal, unless it contravenes the safety of others.

As long as it doesn't cover the NOCSEA label or Warning Sticker.

Yes, that was included in their ruling. Forgot that important part.

Most of the time those cards are attached to the belt with a "key ring"

We had a video from Omaha or Lincoln a few years ago where a kid got his finger caught and severed trying to sack the quarterback.

So it might seem silly, but rules get to be rules for a reason and I wont look the other way for these.

I wonder if anything's ever happened like that with the belt loops in flag football. I would think it'd be even more likely there

Huh?

The ones I've busted are just threaded on to the belt through the armhole.
