Drop Kick

Had a first in my 30 year career - a dropkick for a PAT. It was a JV game and the kid really nailed the kick. We had an idea it was coming due to a comment we overheard at half-time so we had it covered. They tried it 3 more times later in the game but 3 bad snaps ruined it.

Ever had a dropkick in a game?

Seen it as a spectator but never as an official. It's kind of cool!

My Brother did one as a senior in 1967. Last time I have ever seen it, and never as an official since 1979. Jim

I saw 7 last year. The team scored 9 touchdowns, but went for two twice.

By the way the kicker was 4 for 7.

Now let's make it fun...

What happens if the drop-kick is inadvertanly kicked before hitting the ground...

on a try...
on a fg...

Is it a full moon? Night after the dropkick game, I had a grounding call when the QB spiked from the shotgun. Next game, 5 UCs in about 2 minutes (semi-pro). Next game (last night), 28 points scored in the first 2:50 of the game, including 2 kickoffs returned for TDs.

Have 3 games tonight. Wonder what's gonna happen!!!!

5 USC in 2:00! Slow Game!
That's why I don't do semi pro anymore.

Matt - kinda felt that way after the game. But the team is usually a lot of fun to work. They were missing their two quarterbacks and a few other players, had to win to stay alive for playoffs, playing the best team in the league......just got a little frustrated.

Three games last night and nothing exciting to report!
