I sense a disturbance in the Force:

Miles, Saban voice support for SEC officials

Alabama coach Nick Saban lashed out at the critics, not the officials.

Quote:
"If I was an official and I was making what I made officiating because I love the game and I love doing it, and I was getting criticized by the media -- including our announcers on TV -- like these guys are getting criticized, I'd step back and say, 'I think I'll go to the lake this weekend. You can have this,'" Saban said. "That's what I'd do.

You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!

do-do do-do, do-do do-do........

You know every year there are screw-ups at the D1 level. It just so happens that the SEC got more than their share of very visible bad calls in a couple of weeks. I am guessing there was some "advice" sent from their main office out to the coaches this week to try to help difuse this situation.

Not at all. I think they don't want their officials trash talked so they are now fining the coaches. However I think they are encouraging the coaches to approach the problem from the other side so as to limit resentment toward the officials by all the fans no matter the outcome of any call.
