Looks like he handled it properly. Maybe after you have a few year's experience you'll learn that. |

You don't want to watch Jim Quirk then.

I loved that clip of Jim Quirk. Made me laugh a bit. I saw the berating on TV during the OU game (I was rooting for Tech because I want someone else out of the Big 12 South...Nebraska fan here!). At first, I was stunned by it. Then when I saw the replay, I was like, yeah, kid deserved a little fire in the face.

I agree with everyone else. I didnt see anything wrong... the is called Preventive Umpiring right there. He might have stopped something from happening.

TT 76 should have been flagged for at least 2 UC's 1 for taking his helmet off and the 2d for the butt ugly hair do and makeup job. (In his defense, although he is an offensive lineman, he was perhaps TT's best defender that night as he made 2 TD-saving tackles on turnovers. )
Don't think the official meant to push #5 Looks like he trips over the pile 5 came in from far away to exert his influence and he deserved at least a butt chewing. |

Jim Quirk had another similar incident in 1999 during a game between the Rams and Bears. In that game Quirk tackled Jeff Robinson of the Rams in order to break up a fight. Jim Quirk received a phone call from Dick Vermeil a few days later saying he did the right thing.
