TT 76 should have been flagged for at least 2 UC's 1 for taking his helmet off and the 2d for the butt ugly hair do and makeup job. (In his defense, although he is an offensive lineman, he was perhaps TT's best defender that night as he made 2 TD-saving tackles on turnovers. )

Don't think the official meant to push #5 Looks like he trips over the pile 5 came in from far away to exert his influence and he deserved at least a butt chewing.

The NFL certainly thought he went overboard.
I do remember the NFL disciplining Quirk. It may have been a fine, but I also heard (through the grapevine) that some of the other U's in the league wanted to start a fund for Quirk to take pro wrestling lessons.

Jim Quirk had another similar incident in 1999 during a game between the Rams and Bears. In that game Quirk tackled Jeff Robinson of the Rams in order to break up a fight. Jim Quirk received a phone call from Dick Vermeil a few days later saying he did the right thing.

Vermeil is old school when it comes to discipline. He probably also thanked Quirk for teaching Robinson how to tackle correctly.
