Scrimmage kick

JV game
k is punting from its own 12 yard line into a strong wind. Kick lands on the 14 yard line and bounces back into the end zone and is at rest. Both teams head for their respective sideline. What do you have??

You have stupid teams , but the play will result in a safety.

If it was a fumble or BWPass, it would be a TD for B.

Correct on this play. But ... how do you get a TD for B on either a fumble or BW Pass?

8-2-1-c It is a touchdown when a backward pass or fumble is declared dead in the end zone of the opponent of the player who threw the backward pass or fumbled while no player is in possession (other than because of an inadvertent whistle).

REPLY: Monte...Assuming that you're talking about Team A fumbling or throwing the backward pass. In this play, it was in A's endzone, not B's. Result would be a safety here too.

CANADIAN RULING:

This kick should have been blown dead and ruled B 1D/10 @ A-14.
