Taunting After Touchdown

I'm not sure if I enforced this wrong this weekend or not, I've talked with two other referee's and I've heard two different answers. This is a basic play, but I'm confussed.

A28 scores a touchdown. After the play A28 taunts B94. I gave the coach of B the option of having the penalty enforced from the try to make it a try from the 18, or having the option of A kicking off from it's 25. Is this the correct enforcement for a dead ball penalty following a score by A?

Yes, that's correct. It's the new rule this year

New Rule

I believe the new rule states that if it's a dead ball foul by B, not by A.

No, that is wrong. All USC, NP, and DBFouls must be administered from the SSpot. You cannot give them the option of the KO if the penalty occurred during the TD play or after it but before the try.

Plus, what walt said in the next post!

Rule 8.2.2 If during a touchdown-scoring play in which there is no change of possession, a foul by the opponents of the scoring team may ...

The discussion is moot in this example anyway. Taunting is a dead-ball foul and not subject to the rule change.

CANADIAN RULING:

Taunting is Objectionable Conduct. 10 yards on either the convert or KO, at the option of B.

I'm sure next year B will get the option too.

What option? If B accepts a live ball penalty against A during a scoring down you're going to replay the down - no TD.

I am guessing what Wheels meant was that dead-ball fouls against A or B will be added to the list of penalties we are allowed to carry over to the kick off. That is the way it should be IMO.
