Iwfl
I've accepted the opportunity to officiate this league (Independent Women's Football League) this summer. Has any one else officiated this group? Any words of wizdom?
Thanks in advance. Here's their website: http://www.iwflsports.com/ for anyone who is interested. |

I haven't worked in that league specifically but I have done a few games in the NWFA -
1) Get paid before the game - in cash. 2) Don't expect a much in the way of football ability 3) Be patient and try to explain fouls and options. 4) Do a lot of preventive officiating with explainations of what they are doing wrong. 5) All kicks will be short; all passes will be wobbly. 6) Be very careful where you put your hands if you're moving a player back, etc! 7) Have fun. |

You might want to ask at this Yahoo group, which you'll have to join to read:
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/wgimag/ I hope the IWFL has improved its rule book. Their first one, 2 seasons ago, was absolutely useless -- worst written rule book by far I'd ever seen. I'm told the next year's clarified some things, but obfuscated others. Robert |
