Ok I know this game was a couple weeks ago, but did anyone happen to catch it? There was a kick-off return for a TD but there was a penalty on the play for a Personal Foul, hitting a defense-less player during the return. Is this a real penalty? I've seen guys get clocked before on kick, but never seen anyone actually throw a flag for it. This call probably came from the same guy that had 2 inadvertent whistles in the game.

R U familiar with NCAA rules?

2005 P.O.E
The following are situations in which defenseless players are susceptible to serious injury:
• The player who is obviously out of the play.

From rule 9-1-2;
j. No player shall run into or throw himself against an opponent obviously
out of the play either before or after the ball is dead (A.R. 9-1-2-XIX
and XX).

Any more questions?

Ok that helps, I still don't think they should have thrown that flag against Ohio State, they never commit penalties!
